Today unfortunately marks one month since the death of the Secretary General of the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo.

The passing of Secretary General Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo is a great loss for the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), the Huanbohai Energy Trading Center (HETC) and the international energy sector. Looking back over the decades of Secretary General Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo’s life, an energy strongman, he single-handedly transformed the global energy landscape enough to leave a glorious chapter in his life story.

In March 2019, at the invitation of Secretary-General Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo, the Huanbohai Energy Trading Center (HETC) held business cooperation talks with him at its headquarters in Vienna, Austria. Secretary General Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo fully affirmed and positively evaluated the new trading mode of the Huanbohai Energy Trading Center (HETC) and the HETC price index. He also looked forward to future cooperation between the two sides. The talks have built a bridge between China and the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries. During the negotiations, the HETC was received cordially and with a high level of hospitality by Secretary General Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo.
